Rod Clark

Rod Clark is an experienced organisational leader and manager, whose skills include project development and management. Educated at London University, Rod worked in local government health and social services management and in the National Health Service, before becoming Capital Projects Manager for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People.

 

In 1981, he was appointed Chief Executive of SENSE, The National Deafblind & Rubella Association. Rod led and managed Sense from a small voluntary family self-help group into becoming the major UK advocate for and provider of professional services for children and adults who are deafblind or multi-sensory disabled. For his years of work in the voluntary sector Rod was honoured with an O.B.E.

Rita Hopper

Rita has over 25 years experience of working in the voluntary sector including supporting parents’ groups to develop and manage community based childcare services, development and management of a region wide out of school care network, development of the Scottish Out of School Care Network and initiation and latterly management of a childcare community enterprise.

Rita has worked in partnership with a range of voluntary and public sector bodies including local authorities, colleges, universities and voluntary sector organisations and networks.  Rita served on the Board of the Scottish Out of School Care Network from its inception in 1991 to October 2010.  She is a Trustee of the Woodford Foundation and currently works as Senior Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser with Sense Scotland.  

 

 

Tom Memery

Tom, a law graduate with a strong commercial background, initially worked in the Insolvency Service as an Examiner. He spent most of his early career in the North West of England employed by a leading international loss adjusting practice where he specialised in the investigation of fraud, commercial property and legal liability matters.

He joined the Third Sector in 2002 and has provided leadership and management support to a number of individuals, voluntary arts projects and community groups. He was subsequently appointed as Chief Executive of a Welsh children’s charity and was, for many years, involved in the management of a thriving local family centre. He went on to manage a number of successful projects delivered by an award-winning social enterprise, based in Pennine Lancashire, helping members of BME communities to start their own businesses. Since 2008 he has been employed as Development Director of Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care.

Tom is totally committed to raising standards in the voluntary sector and has a longstanding interest in community engagement, supporting families to overcome poverty and encouraging talented young people to reach their potential. He has worked closely with members of the Woodford team for over 3 years and joined the Board of Trustees in September 2011.
